Mexican Independence Day The September issue of La Voz Latina commemorates local events and activities surrounding Mexican Independence Day: Sept. 16. Since nearly 70 percent of Latinos in Minnesota are of Mexican heritage, this is an extremely popular issue that offers very high readership.
